It’s a beautiful day today and the beauty is in your heart. My Godmother reminded me of this two days ago in one of our chats. By the way, never underestimate the value of the women in your life. I love you YJ. (Update: This was written in 2016; she’s gone on to meet her Daddy now.) Back to the word.
When we open up our minds to the possibilities of the world, we allow both good AND bad information in and BOTH can affect our thinking and our emotional state. We may feel good about some things, but the negative stuff steals our joy, and we don’t always take notice of it until we are facing an empty bottle of wine or our sad reflection in the mirror. So your mind may be edified, filled with worldly knowledge and that may be a good thing. But your soul may be weakened and your happiness erased by the negative news and images of our time. Stay with me on this.
But…when we open our heart to God, only good things are attained that POSITIVELY affect the heart AND mind. Our focus is altered because we started GOOD with God. He seals in that joy so that although the negative stuff is there and So Real, we see opportunities to help (I can donate some clothes.. or …I don’t need all of this, I can share…I spend more on junk food anyway). The negative gets turned into a positive because we are led by The Spirit to Contribute rather than despair. Our joy is sealed; it remains intact. See the difference?
The world steals but God seals.
Ever noticed the day you don’t spend time with Spirit first thing in the morning, the chaos that ensues? Listen, we try recipes we see on Facebook and other social media. Even makeup, and health information is sought and utilized from the net. So try this… seek God first in the morning and every moment of every day. Start simple; just talk to Him like you would a friend and then… Be Still. I know a woman whose first words in the morning are “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” and I dare to say her last thoughts are/were the same. I get it now YJ. I just needed to see a working model…lol.
