Individuality. It’s you being you. It’s about your path, your destiny, your preordained experience. God took the time to formulate a plan for each one of us and we don’t even bother to read the first line. In each of our plans His first words are ‘I LOVE YOU’ (John 3:16). God didn’t say that he liked our next-door neighbour so we should follow their example. He loves each one of us for who we are. You see each one of us is unique. Special. Different. Our Purpose in God is based on the talents given to us. So…. Why is it, at the end of the day, we let other people’s stories become our frame of reference?
God already gave us a frame of gilded opulence to protect and beautify the perfect picture. You and I are unique visions of God, complete and purposeful. We each have a unique perspective, a unique frame of reference. My frame is suitable for my picture. Your frame is the same for you.
So then why would I want to create a cheap imitation of yours for myself when I have such a beautifully made, one of a kind, extravagant custom-made frame already surrounding me. Makes no sense right?
Yet we covet our neighbors home, car, job, kids, clothes…..You name it! We want someone else’s blessing but won’t pick up our own at the Source.
And If that’s not bad enough, we allow others to create a frame for us with their leftover scraps. Yes, leftover scraps, not even the first set of scraps. They heap their expectations and demands on us and we try to fit into the frame they say is best for us. We contort our lives and cut off the best parts of us, our talents, gifts we got at the Source, to fit their frame.
Repeat after me:
I am wonderfully and beautifully made in God’s image and likeness. I have been given a frame that is uniquely mine. I am meant for a particular room in His house, not yours.
Get out of my picture. #Godmademe #framed #iamunique
