God promised. So then when we see a broken rainbow what does that mean?

God’s promise was unconditional. So does that mean we can do whatever and He will keep His word? The answer is yes! But our actions have consequences so where the promise does not fall are the broken places. We are essentially the breaks in God’s promise. We are the weak link in the relationship between God and man.

God never fails. We fail. We fail to give Him the honor and the glory. We fail to obey his word. He blesses us and we take His blessings for granted because we know that we are under His grace. So we squander our blessings and when we are in trouble we think we can pray and He will bless us again in the same area just as before. What I learned today is that if I break my rainbow I’m going to have to help fix it. I cannot ask God to do it alone because I broke it and now I need to show my commitment to that rainbow.

If God is going to invest in me then I must invest in me. For all my friends out there with broken rainbows it’s not that God broke his promise, it’s not that he won’t bless you again. But we have to humble ourselves and help fix it. It’s not business as usual. We have to show God we really do appreciate His blessing by receiving them with humility. To whom much is given much is expected. If we’re blessed with an asset then it is our responsibility to take care of that asset. When that asset is another human being then we must be extra careful.

So my rainbow is still broken and I have a lot of work to do but I know that through it all God is still with me. One day my rainbow will be whole again. I’m working on fixing it. #rainbow #brokenness
